Conclusion
This research has helped me consider parts of editorial illustration I have never thought about before like the importance of picking a commission that ‘fits’ you as I’ve realised you need to be able to engage with the information that you’re given to a certain extent to be able to generate successful ideas. It has also shown me the appeal of having moving images in your work and it is something I want to try experimenting with. I like that you have a brief since I sometimes find being able to pick any subject too overwhelming, I also like having a short time scale for when work needs to be done as I think I work better under pressure as it stops me from overthinking or overworking a piece. If I were to do editorial illustrations as a freelancer I would need to improve on how I communicate my ideas/respond to feedback as I've realised how important communication between an illustrator and an art director is.
